About Cake Bar
Behind the bakery, CAKE BAR, is longtime baker Tracy German, whose passion for baking began as a young girl. Tracy German grew up in Augusta, Georgia, where her mother also played a large part in how she fell in love with baking. "She was the best scratch baker I knew," German says. "She didn't need to follow a recipe, and if she did, she changed it to make it her own." Tracy's love for baking grew into her adulthood and motivated her to attend culinary school inSeattle to perfect her craft. For Tracy, Dallas is home and prior to Cake Bar, she had been selling cakes out of her house for nearly 14 years.
The demand for her baking grew from word of mouth, and soon she could hardly keep up with the volume of orders. Tracy exhibits mastery in bakery preparation, consistently delivering cakes and other bakery goods that meet high standards and delicious taste. Her understanding of flavors and ingredients are exceptional and demonstrated in every product that she bakes.
Cake Bar specializes in cakes in a variety of flavors, including her signature Strawberry cake, plus flavors such as Red Velvet, Key Lime, Pina Colada, Italian Cream, and Caramel.
Cakes are available by the slice, or in five-inch, eight-inch or half-sheet sizes. The shop also sells cupcakes, cookies, and pound cakes. Tracy has won much acclaim for her cakes including two CultureMap Tastemaker Award nominations for Best Pastry Chef in 2021 and again in 2023 German serves the kind of "cakes you grew up with." with a Southern flair. Tracy is now advancing towards 10 years in service and expanding into the new space that's double the size for the new level and community mission of Cake Bar.
